Opportunity to be involved in record breaking magazine display
2nd Sep 2008The National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) is calling for publishers to be involved in a record breaking attempt to create the largest ever display of magazines, showcasing up to 3,500 titles. The display is designed to celebrate PPA's forthcoming Magazine Week (September 29- October 5) which aims to raise awareness of the range of magazines available in the UK today.
The record breaking attempt will take place at the NFRN's annual exhibition, CTN World which takes place on September 6 and 7 2008 at the National Hall, Olympia, London.
NFRN product manager Brian Murphy said: "Magazines are a vital and vibrant category for our members and through this venture we will be able to show them the sheer number of titles available in a logical layout. The NFRN is fully committed to the magazine category and we see this attempt as enhancing our service offer to members still further."
This world record attempt will feature in the Magazine World section of the exhibition where magazine distributors and publishers will be on hand to answer retailers' questions and show how they can grow their magazine business.
Murphy added: "This initiative represents a significant investment by the NFRN and clearly demonstrates our commitment to growing magazine sales, but it would not be possible without the support from publishers and distributors in committing their titles and the role that wholesalers will play in ensuring that orders that retailers make at the show are fulfilled. I would like to thank all three sectors for their enthusiasm in helping to make this happen. It is great to see the industry coming together to celebrate magazines and to endorse the vital role they play in independent retail outlets."
